Nandus nebulosus (Bornean Leaf Fish)

Laterally compressed, leaf-like fish with a mottled coloration and a large mouth. These fish are stealth predators and tend to hunt at dusk and dawn. The head is relatively rounded compared with the similar Gangetic Leaffish.

Fish information (behaviour and breeding):

A stealth predator that cannot be kept with smaller species. Besides small fish, will eat river shrimps and other suitably sized invertebrates. Territorial towards its own kind, but otherwise peaceful.

Breeds only rarely in aquaria. Needs soft to moderately hard, neutral water. An egg scatterer, providing no broodcare at all. Fry hatch after two days and need small live foods.
