Agamyxis pectinifrons (Spotted Talking Cat)
This is an interesting fish which makes an excellent addition to a community tank. The body is black with white spots. They are available in the shops although not that often.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
A very peaceful fish which is nocturnal. Provide plenty of hiding places and use lots of planted matter to provide shady areas in the tank. As the name suggests this fish is capable of emitting a noise although it is very faint. Provide fine gravel/sand which they can dig in. Keep them with medium to large fish - they may make a meal of very small fish.They will take most foods including frozen bloodworm and brineshrimp.
There are sketchy reports of breeding success in the aquarium. Sexing is difficult although in general the females are more rounded than the males.
|Water Parameters||Will adapt to most conditions - avoid extremes|
