These are interesting characins which are known to be fin nippers and can be aggressive towards other tankmates. However, kept in a group and with fish of a similar size or larger they should be fine.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
These fish can be aggressive towards others so only keep with fish of a similar size or larger. Ideally, it is better to keep a group in a tank of their own.
Breeding is possible, and the best way to proceed is to place a group in a tank of their own and condition them on a good diet including live food such as brine shrimp and blood worm. They should also accept frozen food. After conditioning place a male and female (she will be much more rounded) in the breeding tank. If you are successful, remove the adults and once the fry are free swimming feed them on newly hatched brine shrimp.
