![]() |
An attractive, small Ancistrus distinguished by a dark body covered with small squiggles and spots. The actual colouration varies, from golden brown to black depending on the ambient conditions. In a tank with a dark substrate and plenty of shade, its colours will be most striking.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
Similar to other Ancistrus. Keep singly or in small groups. Provide lots of hiding places. Feeds mostly on algae and small invertebrates such as bloodworms. Also takes algae wafers, catfish pellets, and the occasional meaty item like mussel. Because these fish come from a fast-water habitat, it is imperative that the water quality is excellent and that there is ample water movement. Do not neglect water changes!
