Gnathonemus petersii (Elephantnose Fish)
This fish is widely available in fish shops. They are very interesting fish to keep, but can be a little delicate and will not tolerate poor water quality. Keep in a dimly lit tank with plenty of hiding places. A sand substrate is best because they can then hunt for food without damaging their sensitive snout. Will take most aquarium foods, including frozen and possibly flake. Live foods will also be very beneficial.
