A light brown fish with a distinctive horizontal band that is most pronounced between the eye and a blotch about halfway along the flank. Another blotch occurs on the base of the tail. No reliable sexual characters.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
Not commonly traded because of its lack of colours, little is known about its needs or behaviour. Likely to be a territorial and potentially aggressive omnivore, so inclusion in a community tank cannot be recommended without caution.
