Aplocheilus werneri (Werner's Panchax)
A medium sized killifish with a pinkish head and geenish-yellow body and tail. The tail, dorsal, and anal fin are spectacularly coloured, with bright blue and yellow markings. A series of black vertical bands ornament the rear half of the flanks. The female is smaller and lacks the coloured fins, and dark bands are much less distinct.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
A predatory fish that cannot be mixed with tankmates substantially smaller than itself. Like to swim close to the surface away from strong water currents and close to shade, such as floating plants.
Breeding is relatively easy if this fish is well cared for. Plenty of live mosquito larvae and bloodworms seem to be important conditioning foods. It is not an annual.
