Betta imbellis (Peaceful Betta)
Gorgeous species much appreciated for its bright colours, resembling those of wild-type Betta splendens but noted for its relatively peaceful temperament. The body is basically reddish or greenish with horizontal stripes, and the fins are red with blue spots. Numerous colour variations exist.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
Males will threaten one another but provided the tank is big enough for each fish to hide when it wants to, no harm will result. In small tanks only keep one male though. The tank should be thickly planted, and since these fish can jump, ensure it is securely covered.
Breeds in the same way as Betta splendens>/i>.
|Water Parameters||Soft or neutral water conditions best|
