Luciocephalus pulcher (Pike Head)
Very pike-like in shape, with a brown body and a large head. The pelvic fins have distinctive, thread-like extensions.
Generally considered a very difficult fish, few of tese survive for long in captivity. In the wild inhabits fast flowing streams, so probably needs bery clean, well oxygenated water to do well.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
Stealth predator that cannot be kept with small fish. In the wild feeds primarily on aquatic invertebrates such as insect larvae and flies, and their diet in captivity should reflect this.
