One of the prettiest of the Nannostomus which is ideal for smaller aquariums. They prefer to be kept in a group.

Characterised by a silver belly with a dark band which runs from the tip of the lower lip to the base of the tail. Above this line is a distinct gold band. On the male the band has a line of red dots. The fins have relatively large red blotches.

Fish information (behaviour and breeding):

The breeding tank should include plenty of plant matter where they will spawn. The eggs will hatch in around 48 hours and the fry should be free swimming in around 4 days when they can be fed on infusoria and later on baby brine shrimp.
