Thoracocharax stellatus (Spotfin Hatchetfish)

A large hatchet fish with a silvery body and elongated pectoral fins. This species can be confused with Thoracocorax securis, but it is not so large and lacks the band running along the flanks.

Fish information (behaviour and breeding):

A lively, peaceful species well suited to community tanks without aggressive or overly active tankmates. These fish get along very well with species such as cardinal tetras, neons, Corydoras, Apistogramma, and small plecs.
