Corydoras sp. CW010 (Gold Laser Corydoras, Corydoras CW010)
This striking Gold Laser Cory catfish is perfect for your soft-water community aquarium. It's a peaceful species and is best to be kept in groups of 5 or more due to shoaling nature. Corydoras (Corys) are very popular in most aquariums due to their easy going nature, their ability to clean up the bottom and their hardiness.
Fish information (behaviour and breeding):
This peaceful fish makes for a great addition to any fishkeeper's collection. A soft sandy substrate is recommended in order to protect the delicate sensory barbels and some shady planted areas should be provided to keep these fish most happy.
Corydoras have the ability to breathe air intestinally, so a small gap should be left between the surface of the water and the cover slides in order for the fish to come up to the surface and take air in, you will likely see them doing this several times a day.
This fish is currently thought to be one of several natural colour variants of Corydoras aeneus, although future scientific evaluations could prove it is a species in its own right. For now it is usually sold as Corydoras sp., Corydoras sp. ‘peru orange stripe’, or Corydoras aeneus var. and is also known as CW010.
Regarding food this fish will happily consume sinking catfish pellets/granules, flake, and frozen foods such as bloodworm, white mosquito larvae, vitamin-enriched brineshrimp etc.
