Erythrinus erythrinus

Sturdy, cylindrical fish that closely resembles the Asian snakeheads in behaviour as well as looks. The edges of dorsal and tail fins are orange or copper coloured.

Fish information (behaviour and breeding):

A big, territorial, and highly predatory characin only suitable for the advanced aquarist. These fish not coexist with one another, cannot really be kept in a community tank, though sturdy tankmates such as plecs may be an option. But best kept alone.
